<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crime preventive device of an elevator capable of enhancing the crime preventive effect, by driving away persons stationed in a landing hall of the elevator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This crime preventive device includes a person sensing sensor 1 arranged in the landing hall of the elevator and associatively sensing the persons staying in the landing hall with a plurality of divided detecting areas, a high frequency sound generator 5 arranged in the landing hall and generating a high frequency sound, a landing hall button arranged in the landing hall and registering a car call of the elevator, and a control part 7 for generating the high frequency sound of a predetermined frequency or more from the high frequency sound generator 5 when the person sensed by the person sensing sensor 1 is continuously sensed within a predetermined range over a predetermined time when the car call is not registered.
