<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gesture switch device allowing an easy and sure operation of a switch operation part displayed on an image display device installed in a vehicle with feeling as if a driver actually touches and operates the switch operation part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This gesture switch device includes the image display device for displaying the switch operation part, a camera for imaging the movement of a hand of the driver directed toward the image display device, and a computer to which image information on the movements of the hand is input from the camera, for performing an image processing as to the operation for the switch operation part or not, based on the input information and displaying a response indicating that the switch operation part is operated when the information determined as the operation for the switch operation part, and performs a virtual operation of the hand for showing the operation for the switch operation part in a designated region of a space between the image display device and a driver's seat. Sensors for detecting a starting operation to start the operation and a finishing operation to finish the operation are provided.
