<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel which has high quality and offers high yield. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A partition wall 34 of a rear panel is composed of a vertical partition wall 34a disposed to be parallel with an address electrode and a horizontal partition wall 34b disposed to cross the vertical partition wall 34a. Both partition walls divide a discharge space into a discharge cell. When the height of the vertical partition wall 34a at a point of crossing the horizontal partition wall 34b is H1, the height of the same at the position of a discharge gap 50 of a display electrode 24 is H2, and the height of the same at a predetermined location between the position of the discharge gap 50 and the point of crossing the horizontal partition wall 34b is H3, the vertical partition wall 34a has a shape that satisfies H2≥H1>H3. The vertical partition wall 34a is so formed as to be in contact with or closest to a front panel 20 at the position of the discharge gap 50 of the display electrode 24.
