PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device, an ozone gas emission method, and an electrifying device for emitting the ozone gas remaining in a case body of a charging unit efficiently while miniaturizing the image forming device. SOLUTION: This image forming device 10 is provided with an electrifier 24, a power supply unit 80, and a control part 50. The electrifier 24 has a casing 52, a grid electrode member 51, and a corona electrode member 54 to charge a photosensitive member drum 22 to the predetermined potential by corona discharge. The power supply unit 80 applies either of a first set value for the corona discharge and a voltage being a second set value having different polarity to the corona electrode member 54. The control part 50 switches the voltage to be applied by the power supply unit 80 from the first set value to the second set value for only a period of time set in advance if the control part has not the timing for charging a surface of the photosensitive member drum 22 opposing to the electrifier 24 to the predetermined potential.
