PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly enhance rigidity of a steering column for tilt adjustment or telescopic adjustment. SOLUTION: This device is composed so that a pair of clamp members 12, 12 are provided on the inner side of a lower side outer column 4 so as to hold an upper side inner column 3 and the pair of clamp members 12, 12 are moved by a clamping bolt 13 so as to mutually approach for holding and clamping the upper side inner column 3 by the pair of clamp members 12, 12.
