An aspect of the information processing device for controlling a computation device includes a first control unit composed of a first processing section for controlling the computation device and a first data transfer section for communicating control information with the computation device and a second control unit composed of a second processing section and a second data transfer section for communicating control information with the computation device. The information processing device is characterized in that the first data transfer section sends progress information representing the progress of data communication between the first data transfer section and the computation device to the second data transfer section and takes over the data communication with the computation device if it is detected that the first control unit has failed.</p>
