<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display control device and an image capturing apparatus capable of alleviating uncomfortable feeing against an image displayed by slide show. <P>SOLUTION: A digital camera 1 has an image recording unit 12, a microcomputer 3, and an image display control unit 13. The image recording unit 12 records images with panning mode signals regarding the motion of the chassis. A direction determination unit 48 of the microcomputer 3 determines an image display method in a display 55 based on the panning mode signals.
