<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a state wherein many similar images are stored, by immediately determining and deleting unnecessary images while comparing each image with the other images immediately after capturing the image. <P>SOLUTION: An image capturing apparatus includes: a feature extraction unit for extracting features of images captured by an imaging unit; a classification unit for classifying the images on the basis of features extracted by the feature extraction unit; a memory for storing the images and information relating to classification of the images; a search unit for searching for an image meeting a condition determined in accordance with an operation mode; a composite image generation unit for generating a composite image including an image displayed by a display unit and at least part of the image found out by the search unit on the basis of the image displayed by the display unit; and a control unit for performing control causing the display unit to display the composite image generated by the composite image generation unit. When a position corresponding to one of images included in the composite image, in an area capable of being depressed on a touch panel is depressed in an image capturing mode, the control unit deletes image data of the image corresponding to the depressed position, from the memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
