<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare earth element doped-fiber with BF<SB>3</SB>added therein, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This method of manufacturing this rare earth element doped-fiber includes: a deposition process of forming a glass particulate layer by depositing one or more layers of glass particulates on the inner surface of a pipe; an immersion process of impregnating the glass particulate layer with a solution containing a rare-earth element; a drying process of drying the glass particulate layer after the immersion process; a transparency process of converting the glass particulate layer to transparent glass after the drying process; and a collapsing process of collapsing an anhydrous quartz pipe; deposited at 1,200-1,500°C, and another deposition process of forming a glass particulate layer with BF<SB>3</SB>doped therein is executed at 1,000-1,190°C after the deposition process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
