PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground structure capable of securing stability and safety by reducing shear deformation induced by the displacement of a sliding surface in the ground, and a method for constructing the underground structure. SOLUTION: A tunnel T includes a tunnel body 1 which is formed in such a shape as to cross the underground sliding surface F, and an outside tunnel 2 which is formed in such a shape as to cover the outer periphery of the tunnel body 1 in a crossing section A including the crossing location of the sliding surface F.
