A pressure chamber for controlling the water level in a laundry washing machine comprises a vertical compartment (30) connected to a connection pipe (30) for connection to the pressure switch, said compartment (30) being attached to the rear wall (50) of the pressure chamber, and the rear wall (40) of the compartment (30) being spaced apart from the rear wall (50) of the pressure chamber, thus preventing water from entering the pressure chamber, which would adversely affect detection of the pressure inside the chamber and cause the water in the tank to overflow, since it would be impossible to control correctly the water level in said tank.
