Continuous casting die comprises a central die tube (2) mounted in a protective sleeve (4). Ribs (15) on the outer surface of the die tube cooperate with profiled ribs (20) on the sleeve to hold it in position with peripheral play. Independent claims are included for: (A) die tubes as described; (B) plate dies with the same support system; and (C) die supports fitted with the same system.
