SCHEDULED POWER-SAVING METHOD IN IEEE 802.16E SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A scheduled power-saving method in an IEEE 802.16e system is provided to improve the power saving performance through the relative increase of a non-activation state of a mobile terminal by performing a sleep mode sync operation for service connection. CONSTITUTION: If there is a sleep mode conversion request for service connection, it is checked whether or not the connection type of the service connection is a low QoS(Quality of Service)(S1,S2). A sleep request message including a minimum sleep interval and a maximum sleep interval is transmitted to a base station(S3). If a sleep response message is received from the base station, the service connection is switched into a sleep mode(S4,S5).
