Class 132(1) The tensioning . lever for the heel strap of a ski-binding is articulated to a longitudinally adjustable slide having a coarse adjustment locking member which can be turned about a longitudinal axis to disengage and re-engage with spaced racks on a guide for the slide to adjust the heel strap. The slide is formed by parts 11, 12 sliding in a guide 10 formed by cheeks 22, 23 mounted on a base plate. A lever 14 is pivoted on part 12 and carries tension springs 16, 17 for a cable 18 which forms the heel strap. A screw 13 passes through threaded bush 24, fixed in a guide element 27, which with flanges 25, 26 forms part 11, and into part 12 forming a fine adjustment between parts 11 and 12. The coarse adjustment locking member 32 engages any of five pairs of notches 33, 34 in guide cheeks 22, 23 which form the racks. Thus adjustment of the heel strap is effected by the use of the two adjustments with the lever raised, lowering of the lever protecting the adjustments. Further adjustment may be effected by an element 36, which is secured to springs 16, 17 and slides in hookshaped slots 35 in lever 14, Fig. 1. In a modification, the ends of springs 16, 17 are attached to a pivoted joint device which engages a loop of cable 18. Alternatively, Fig. 6 (not shown), a stirrup arm is pivoted to lever 14 by element 36 and engages a cable in which there is a tensioning spring. In Fig. 8, slide part 112 is extended forwards at one side 1121 to engage the end of fine adjustment screw 113, the lever 114 being attached to the rear end 112" as before. Between the ends, part 112 has a recess 1361 to accommodate the bolt -136 to which the heel strap is secured. In a further modification, Fig. 10, the lever 114 is pivoted by short pins 236, 2361 to two links pivoted to a joint piece 240 carrying springs 216, 217 connected to cable 18 and separated by a cross member 243. Member 243 may be a perforated iron strap or bent wire.
