<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive scissors type recording paper cutter for a printer for opening-closing an opening-closing frame even when a movable blade stops in the middle of cutting. <P>SOLUTION: This scissors type recording paper cutter 30 for the printer 1 has a fixed blade 31 mounted on a body frame 40, and the movable blade 32 mounted on the opening-closing frame 51, and the fixed blade 31 is energized upward by a plate spring 91 in a vertically rotatable state. When closing the opening-closing frame 51, a fixed blade abutting surface 32c of the movable blade 32 pushes in a movable blade abutting surface 31b of the fixed blade 31, and both blades are automatically positioned. A positioning mechanism of both blades can be compactly constituted.
