A drinking vessel 10 comprises an open-topped receptacle 12 for holding a beverage such as wine and a base 14. The vessel 10 is transformable between a drinking vessel configuration wherein the drinking vessel resembles a wine glass and a beverage container configuration for holding the beverage therein during transport or storage. The receptacle 12 includes a cup portion 16 and a hollow neck portion 20 defining a filler opening 21 closable by means of a stopper 37 and through which the receptacle can be fitted. In the drinking vessel configuration the neck portion is screwed into the base 14, whereas in the beverage container configuration, the base is screwed into the cup portion to close off the top of the cup, with a seal 38 being secured to an inner side of the cup providing a fluid-tight seal to define an enclosed space within which the beverage is contained. |
