Class 68(1) [Also in Group XXX] In a loading machine in which material after it has been cut is engaged from above by a scraper device and fed on to a scoop 12 overhanging an endless conveyer-belt 11. The scraper device comprises scrapers 24, 25, which are guided one behind the other on an arm 16 pivotally mounted on the frame of the loader about a horizontal pin 15 and a vertical pin 14. The scrapers are pivotally mounted by pins 26 on a frame 23 movable on rollers 22 along the arm 16 by an endless cable 27 which is secured to the arm and frame at 28, 23a respectively and passes round rollers 29. 30 at the opposite ends of a piston rod 31 slidable in a cylinder 32. Pivoting of the arm 16 about the pins 14, 15 is affected by piston rods operating in cylinders 17, 20 respectively. In operation, the arm 16 is raised and then lowered on to the cut material and the scraper then drawn in whereby material moved by the scraper 24 is taken to a position just short of the scoop 12. In the next operation, the scraper 24 pushes more material adjacent to the scoop 12, whilst the scraper 25 pushes the material left just short of the scoop, up the scoop on to the conveyer belt 11. |
