PURPOSE: A motor-driven cart and a motor control method thereof are provided to prevent neglect accident by controlling a motor operation according to an obstacle sensing result. CONSTITUTION: A motor-driven cart comprises a loading box(1), an obstacle sensor, wheels(51), a storage battery, a phase resistance measurement unit and a control unit. The loading box carries cargo. The obstacle sensor is installed on the front side of the loading box. A motor is installed in the wheel. The storage battery supplies the power to the motor. The phase resistance measurement unit measures the phase resistance of the motor. The control unit controls the drive of the motor based on the sensed signal of the obstacle sensor.
