PURPOSE: A pipe welding machine and method are provided to improve the durability of a welded part by using, as a base material, the same material as the welded part and minimizing the approach of foreign materials. CONSTITUTION: A pipe welding method is characterized in that both ends the width of a band-shaped material are bent into an arc shape to contact each other so as to form a welding surface(310) at an angle, the welding surface is compressed and melted into a circle having a diameter smaller than the width of the band-shaped material so as to form a pipe wherein the welding surface is melted by a contact surface formed on welding rod, and a protection block(335) pressed to the exterior of the pipe is formed on the exterior of the welding rod so as to prevent from the melt from flowing down.
