PURPOSE: A portable USB security device using an integrated control chip having a user authentication function and an encoding/decoding function is provided to reduce the number of the chips necessary for implementing the portable USB security device by using an integrated control chip for connecting a host computer with a smart card IC and a memory. CONSTITUTION: A USB(Universal Serial Bus) port(110) connects a host computer(200) to an integrated control chip(120) and supplies power to a portable USB security device. A smart card IC(Integrated Circuit)(140) is connected to the host computer through the integrated control chip and comprises a key generator for generating an encoding/decoding key, a storage unit for storing the encoding/decoding key and a smart card IC control unit for transferring the encoding/decoding key to an integrated control chip control unit. |
