The device has a processing module for processing sampled signals in an output of an input module (10). An output module (30) reproduces musical signification of the gesture of a user. The processing module has a gesture interpretation and analyze sub-module (210) with a recursive low-pass filter to receive signals at an output of the input module. The sub-module assures a gesture detection function and a gesture detection confirmation function by comparing variation between two values in the sample of one of the signals of movement sensors e.g. accelerometer, with a threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a method for interpreting gesture of a user.
