A granular or powdered food composition, and a method for preparing the food composition are provided to solve the problem caused because any one component of arabinose and sugar is abundant or deficient. A granular or powdered food composition contains the arabinose-coated sugar which is prepared by coating a sugar crystal with an arabinose solution, and drying the coated one. Preferably the arabinose solution is prepared by dissolving 1 part by weight of powdered arabinose in 1-3 parts by weight of a solvent. |
