INKJET PRINTER HAVING ARRAY TYPE HEAD AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An inkjet printer having an array type head and a driving method thereof are provided to rapidly cool inkjet print heads by circulating ink in an ink reservoir into a manifold when the temperature of the inkjet print heads increases over a reference temperature. CONSTITUTION: An inkjet printer comprises an ink cartridge(100), an ink reservoir(150), a comparator(170), and a circulation pump(160). The ink cartridge comprises an array type head(110) and a manifold(130). The array type head includes a plurality of inkjet print heads which are arranged in a predetermined form and a plurality of temperature sensors provided in the inkjet print heads. The manifold supplies ink stored in the ink reservoir to the inkjet print heads. The comparator compares the measurement temperature of each temperature sensor with the predetermined reference temperature. The circulation pump operates according to the temperature difference detected by the comparator in order to circulate the ink in the ink reservoir to the manifold.
