<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system improving use efficiency of light inside a light guide body. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting system, which emits light from the front surface to perform forward planar illumination, of a vehicle meter apparatus 1 includes: the light guide body 8 guiding light introduced from edge parts 81 at both ends in the substantially circumference direction on the sidewalls on the inner and outer circumferences of a curved part 82 to uniformly emit light as a whole; and a light source 7.
