<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle which can reduce noise by gear striking noise. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device for the vehicle includes a parallel axis gear mechanism having a plurality of gears. The parallel axis gear mechanism includes a driving gear 33 fitted to an outer periphery of a first support shaft 4 so as to be rotatable in the same direction and made of a material of a lower strength than that of the first support shaft 41. The outer periphery of the first support shaft 4 includes an outer periphery cylindrical part 62 and an outer periphery tapered part 63. An inner periphery of the driving gear 33 includes an inner periphery cylindrical part 64 and an inner periphery tapered part 65. The outer periphery tapered part 63 includes a serration formed area T1 having a serration meshed with the inner periphery tapered part 65 and a serration non-forming area T2 in face-contact with the inner periphery tapered part 65. The serration forming area T1 is arranged nearer to the outer periphery cylindrical part 62 than the serration non-forming area T2 with respect to the axial direction X2 of the support shaft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
