PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display controller, an electronic camera and a display control method which allow a user to confirm a focal state of a picked up image with user-friendliness. SOLUTION: At an imaging step of imaging an object with a digital camera, a selection picture for setting printing size of the picked up image is displayed on a screen of a monitor. Then, full-screen display of an enlarged image obtained by enlarging a partial region of the picked up image according to the printing size set by using the selection screen is performed on the screen of the monitor. For example, when the printing size of the picked up image is relatively small, an enlarged image obtained by enlarging a part of the picked up image with magnification which is smaller than the one when the printing size is relatively large is generated. This suppresses a trouble in which the enlarged image is unnecessarily greatly enlarged and displayed, or the picked up image whose focal state is not satisfactory is printed when it is actually printed though the focal state is determined as satisfactory in the enlarged image.
