<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device which can be driven at a low voltage, and is excellent in manufacturing stability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the light-emitting device, a chalcopyrite layer comprising a chalcopyrite compound of a I-III-VI<SB>2</SB>type and a light-emitting substance layer where a light-emitting material of a II-VI type is imparted with a donor and an acceptor are stacked to adjoin each other.
