PURPOSE: A method and a device for producing a tubular article out of a punched hollow block are provided to minimize the bending of a mandrel bar to be inserted into the hollow block, using setting pieces. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing a tubular article out of a punched hollow block comprises steps of: capturing a hollow block(1) using a block manipulator(2), transferring the hollow block into a working zone of a forging machine(3), and passing a mandrill(5) through the axis of a central bore(6) within the forging machine before the forging process, wherein a mandrel bar(4) comprises one or more center setting pieces(8) whose outer diameter is smaller than or equal to the inner diameter of the block manipulator.
