APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MEASURING TENSION FOR ARTIFICIAL JOINT REPLACEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus of measuring tension for artificial joint replacement which enables easier and accurate determination of a tensile force attributed to a soft tissue between bones of a joint site and the interosseous distance, and easier quick determination of the relationship between the tensile force and the interosseous distance without variations due to operators.

SOLUTION: An interosseous distance detection means detects the interosseous distance altered by an interosseous distance alteration means 11. An interosseous tensile force detection means detects a tensile force caused by the soft issue between bones as a result of the alteration of the interosseous distance. A memory means 48 stores distance data as values of the interosseous distance and tensile force data as values of the tensile force corresponding to a detection timing. A display control means 50 makes a control so that the distance data and the tensile force data are shown on a display 14 based on the contents of memory in the memory means 48.
