PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in loss due to a discharging and charging current of a capacitor provided in a power converter even when a motor frequently repeats a powering state and a regenerating state.

SOLUTION: Provided is a power supply apparatus wherein when the motor moves from a regenerating state to a powering state, processing is performed to keep an electrical connection between first and second power supplies fixed at a series connection based on the traveling environment and traveling history of the vehicle.
