<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device suppressing contamination of IC, and electronic equipment including the device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A buffer member 30 is provided between an upper side substrate 11 and a coating member 20 of a display panel 10. The distance D1 between the end 30A of the buffer member 30 and the end 11A of the upper side substrate 11 is above the thickness D2 of the buffer member 30. Even if the buffer member 30 is deformed by an external impact, the possibility that the buffer member 30 be protruded out of the end 11A of the upper side substrate 11 may be reduced. The distance between the end 30A of the buffer member 30 and the end 41A of an upper polarizing plate 41 may be set larger than the thickness D2 of the buffer member 30.
