The present system relates to a wireless access system and more specifically to method and device that controls the mobility of a terminal in a broadband wireless access system including a relay station. To solve the technical problem above, the present invention discloses an efficient method for controlling terminal mobility of a relay station and a method for performing handover of a terminal. The method for controlling mobility of terminal at a relay station in a broadband wireless access system according to one embodiment of the present invention may comprise a step wherein a neighboring base station object searched is added to a list, and a step wherein a broadcast message including the list is transmitted to the terminal. This neighboring base station object may include a relay station that belongs to a neighboring macro base station, rather than the macro station to which the relay station belongs, and the neighboring macro base station.
