<p>Disclosed is a sealing material for a honeycomb structure, which contains an inorganic fiber having good bio-solubility, can be prepared into a paste that exhibits good coating properties to a ceramic block or the like even when a long period is elapsed after the preparation of the paste, and is hardly reduced in hardness when the sealing material is solidified. Specifically disclosed is a sealing material for a honeycomb structure, which comprises an inorganic fiber comprising a bio-soluble inorganic compound, an oxide sol, an inorganic particle, and a metal-containing material that contains at least one metal selected from Mg, Ca and Sr. The sealing material has an acidic pH.</p> |
