The lubricant pump (10) has two supplying layers (26,28). A lubricant supplying volume is adjusted by the supplying layers in an operating condition of the internal combustion engine. The supplying layer of the lubricant pump is inserted by a switching valve. An independent claim is also included for a method for a lubricant pump.
