<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with conventional analysis processing of a failure cause wherein, as long as all combinations of a plurality of failure cause decision conditions completely accord with a pattern of a line of an event sequence, the failure cause can be predetermined, but when unable to specify the failure cause in a system state by a change or the like of a system, much time is needed for the identification of the cause. <P>SOLUTION: In this failure cause analysis system and program, even when the failure cause decision conditions corresponding to prepared decision rules are not all concluded, failure cause candidates having strong possibility of the cause of system failure are displayed in a list format.
