<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical calling device enabling a plurality of groups to perform simultaneous communications at a plurality of distant places. <P>SOLUTION: First and second media converters 3 and 4 having a bidirectional conversion function between an electric signal and an optical signal are paired and provided, and are connected to an electric circuit 10. An optical fiber 2 connected to the media converters 3 and 4 is used to perform bidirectional optical communications while using an audio signal as an optical time division multiplex signal having a plurality of time slots. For example, a time slot of optical time division multiplex communication is set per group previously defined by an optical calling device 1, and then, a signal allocated to the set time slot is extracted. The optical calling device has a function of compositing this extracted signal to an audio signal input from a microphone 32 and transmitting the composited signal to the first and second media converters 3 and 4, and a function of compositing the extracted signal and causing a speaker 31 to output the composited signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
