<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical subcutaneous fat thickness measuring device, capable of measuring subcutaneous fat thickness at different parts of a living body even by operation to one input portion to achieve simple operation, while achieving device compactness and low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The optical subcutaneous fat thickness measuring device 10 includes a light emitting element 13, a first light receiving element 14, and a second light receiving element 15. The optical subcutaneous fat thickness measuring device 10 includes a database portion 17 storing a nonlinear function to correlate the ratio of received light quantities obtained from the first and the second light receiving elements 14 and 15 with the value of subcutaneous fat thickness at each part of the living body 20, the nonlinear function being commonly used at each portion of the living body 20. The optical subcutaneous fat thickness measuring device 10 includes a control portion 16 to refer to the nonlinear function based on the ratio of received light quantity, and estimate the value of the subcutaneous fat thickness, a single input button 10b to instruct the control portion 16 on a direction to start measuring the subcutaneous fat thickness, and a display portion 10a to inform a subject of the value of the subcutaneous fat thickness estimated by the control portion 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
