<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate-like object holder for holding a plate-like object while avoiding the local deformation of the plate-like object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The plate-like object holder includes a sheet-like member 11a formed of a flexible material, and having one through-thickness face adapted to be attached almost close to the surface of the plate-like object 5 as a held object, and a supporting member 12a more difficult to be deformed than the sheet-like member 11a, and having a joint face formed almost plane and adapted to be joined to the other face of the thickness direction of the sheet-like member 11a.
