<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic copolyamide fiber having excellent mechanical properties such as high strength. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the aromatic copolyamide fiber having a composition of a specific range of a structural repeating unit (1) represented by formula (1) and a structural repeating unit (2) represented by formula (2), includes a spinning/solidifying step, a drawing step, and a heat treatment step. The drawing step uses a pair of rollers, arranges a guide bar on the perpendicular bisector of a tangent to the pair of rollers and draws a coagulated yarn while traveling the yarn so as to bring the yarn into contact with the guide bar.
