<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the view field of a worker is disturbed by a gripping claw turned upwards when using an electromagnet in a conventional gripping device with the electromagnet, regarding the gripping device with the electromagnet. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This gripping device 1 with the electromagnet is the gripping device with the electromagnet attached detachably onto the end of an arm, and the electromagnet 5 is provided elevatably with respect to the body 3 of the gripping device by an elevating device, to bring the attractive face of the electromagnet 5 into a state projected from a tip position in a horizontal condition of the gripping claw 4, under the condition that the gripping claw 4 is expansion-opened substantially horizontally.
