PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance sensitivity without causing deterioration in detection responsiveness of water stoppage as to a flow sensor including: a sensor case 1 housing a vane wheel 2; a pair of bearings 3 and 4 provided on the entry and exit sides, respectively, of the sensor case and rotatably holding the vane wheel in the sensor case; and a cylindrical rotation preventer 5 made by forming slits 51 axially movably engaging with radial spokes 43 provided on the exit-side bearing and by protrusively providing protrusions 52 on an end face confronting the vane wheel to prevent the vane wheel from rotating by engaging with the vane wheel 23. SOLUTION: The protrusions 52 are formed so that the vane wheel 2 can be prevented from rotating in either a normal or a reverse direction.
