The unit has a thermal insulating arrangement (10) thermally insulating a cooking unit muffle (12). An electrical unit (14) conveys a part of the weight of the device on the thermal insulating arrangement in an operating condition. A fastening unit (18) fastens a function unit (16) to the thermal insulating arrangement, and a heating unit is partially arranged in a receiving region of the thermal insulating arrangement that partially forms a channel (24). The thermal insulating arrangement includes thermal insulating units (28) which are connected with each other in operating condition. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a cooking unit.
