PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition for a continuously variable transmission enhancing a coefficient of static friction in a wet friction material and an inter-metal friction coefficient between a belt and a pulley while suppressing shock at bonding of the wet friction material and making fuel economy-saving by low viscosity and part durability compatible. SOLUTION: The lubricant composition for the continuously variable transmission contains a lubricant base oil, (A) 0.1-5.0 mass% of a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>represents a 1-20C alkyl group), (B) 450-700 mass ppm of at least one kind of a compound selected from a basic calcium sulfonate and a basic calcium phenate in terms of Ca amount, and 0.5-20 mass% of at least one kind of a non-dispersion type polymethacrylate based viscosity index enhancing agent having Mw of 10,000-50,000 (C-1) and Mw of 60,000-500,000 (C-2) and Mw/Mn of 1.0-1.5 based on the whole amount of the lubricant composition. In the lubricant composition, dynamic viscosity at 100°C is 5.8-6.5 mm<SP>2</SP>/s and the viscosity index is 150-180. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
