<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open roof construction for a vehicle having an operating mechanism that can be operated accurately without play. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the open roof construction including the operating mechanism (4) adjustably supporting a closure element closing a roof opening and provided with a slide (5) which is capable of sliding movement in a guide rail (6), the slide being guided horizontally by sliding shoes (10), the slide (5) includes sliding members (23, 24) separately from the sliding shoes (10).
