<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mother to limit use of a telephone set during school hours, even without operating the telephone set each time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When it is determined, from a registered timetable and the present time, that the present time is within a school hour time zone (Y in step S01), the telephone device enters a school-hour mode (step S02) wherein speech communication with or transmission and reception of mail to or from only the mother are allowed; and when a speech communication operation or a mailing operation is conducted during the school hours (Y in step S08, Y in step S12) and the partner thereof is the mother (Y in step 09), the communication is permitted (step S10), but if the partner is not the mother, the communication is inhibited (step S11).
