The method involves receiving data related to an object (10) from an optical data detection unit i.e. scanner (12), and subjecting data to plausiblization. The plausiblized data is displayed and utilized for processing the object and transmitted to a controller. Relative movement between the object and the detection unit is performed during reception of the data. Dimensions of the object are detected, and user identification is performed. Load detection is performed.
