<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively perform assembly operation by securely and easily positioning an electrolyte-electrode structure and a separator with a simple structure, and to secure desired sealing function. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell 10 includes the electrolyte membrane-electrode structure 16, and first and second metal separators 18, 20 for sandwiching the electrolyte membrane-electrode structure 16. The second metal separator 20 includes a second sealing member 58 integrally formed around an outer circumferential end part. The second sealing member 58 includes a first flat surface part 64 facing to an anode side electrode 38.
