<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for estimating visual field capable of comprehensively evaluating visual field to be visually confirmed and using the visual field for a safety operation, a computer program for achieving the device, and a recording medium for recording the computer program. <P>SOLUTION: Ranges for spatially distributing the visual field to be visually confirmed in each of visual line directions of an occupant via a back mirror 11, door mirrors 12 and 13 and a front window of a vehicle 1 from a head part position of the occupant are calculated, weight tracing back time and reducing exponentially is imparted to each of the calculated ranges and the ranges are integrated in time series. A virtual view point at a virtual image position of the head part position in relation to each mirror is calculated based on a direction of a mirror surface for each mirror, the head part position and the position of each mirror. A virtual visual line direction to be a direction for seeing through each mirror from the virtual view point is calculated based on the direction of the mirror surface of each mirror and the visual line direction.
