The semiconductor laser has two connector carriers (10a,10b), which respectively have two base bodies (1a,1b) of an electrically isolating material and two connection points (2a,2b) of an electrically leading material. An edge emitting semiconductor laser chip is arranged between the both connector carriers. An upper side (11a) of the former base body is provided opposite to upper side (11b) of the latter base body. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a semiconductor laser.
