<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage container suitable for keeping the freshness of marine products, and a method for preserving the marine products using the same in the distribution stage including, in particular, transport and delivery. <P>SOLUTION: The storage container 1 for the marine products comprises a substantially parallelepiped box body 5 with its top face opened, a lid body 2 for covering the opening of the top face, and a shelf plate 3 which is substantially similar in shape to the lid body 2 and arranged inside the box body 5. In the storage container 1, the shelf plate 3 has a large number of through-holes therein, and is supported by supporting parts 6 provided at the height closer on the bottom face side than one half of the height (depth) on a sidewall of the box body, and is attachably/detachably arranged in an internal space of the box body 5.
